Barrett Planning Group has an immediate need for a full-time planner. The person selected for this position will have at least 1-3 years of professional planning experience and must be able to perform the following duties:

Master’s degree and 1-3 years of experience. AICP preferred. Must have valid Massachusetts driver’s license and ability to drive to and from client sites.

Position Summary:
The Real Estate Market Analyst/Planner will support all aspects of our business, including writing supply and demand studies for owners (for profit and not for profit), as well as municipalities, lenders and investors. The work involves web-based demographic research of census and other data, contacting and interviewing municipalities and properties, as well as site visits to locations in greater New England. The position will also involve assisting with permitting, development, and brokerage matters. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a small company environment. Most of the work will take place Monday through Friday during regular business hours (9am to 5pm) with some night meetings. This is a hybrid position that allows for both office and remote work.

The Community Planner for Housing and Equity assists project leads on a variety of projects and utilizes expertise in land use planning, zoning, and housing needs analysis for a variety of projects including housing plans, zoning, and long-range planning projects and includes supportive roles on local comprehensive plans, community visioning, housing plans, and community preservation plans.
Perform research and analysis, write plans and reports, draft zoning amendments, particularly to promote housing production, and present complex information to the general public as well as local boards and committees. Assist with project management, expanding this role as your skills grow, and work closely and collaboratively the JM Goldson team to generate equitable, creative, sustainable solutions for our client communities.
The position is full-time with competitive pay (salary range: $75,000+), plus quarterly bonuses based on performance, benefits, as well as a flexible hybrid schedule.

The Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (MVPC) is seeking an experienced planning professional to provide supervisory, administrative, and technical leadership in developing and managing the agency’s Transportation Program.
The Transportation Program Manager is responsible for the accomplishment of all highway and transit planning services for the agency and oversees the transportation planning contracts with local, state, and federal agencies and the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority. The Program Manager assists in the preparation and development of regional Transportation Planning studies, and transportation programs and assists in planning, organizing, and directing the transportation/transit planning activities and programs for the Merrimack Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (MVMPO).
