Director of Planning and Development Town of Scituate
The Town of Scituate seeks qualified applicants for the newly created position of Director of Planning and Development. Responsible for coordinating and managing the operations of the following departments; Building and Zoning, Conservation, Planning and Economic Development. Oversee the regulatory function and enforcement for land development and management which includes planning, economic development, land use and acquisition, zoning, environmental and wetlands protection, conservation, historic preservation and housing initiatives. Work is performed within the requirements of state and local planning and land use laws, town bylaws and municipal codes and regulations. As a member of the senior management team, participates in setting the direction for the municipal organization, continually improve Town services, and appropriately allocate organizational resources across Town departments.
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, urban planning, economic development, engineering, or related field, and seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal administration, planning, regional planning, or community or economic development, including a minimum of three (3) years of administrative or supervisory responsibility; any combination of requisite education and experience. Town Planner
Town of Scituate
The Town of Scituate seeks qualified applicants for the position of Town Planner. Performs professional, technical and administrative work in planning and land use controls. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development, with policy direction of the Planning Board, the Town Planner coordinates activities with other development review staff according to applicable Massachusetts General Laws, Town policies, Town bylaws and relevant state, federal and local regulations and standards.
Master's Degree in Planning or related field, and five (5) years of experience as a Town Planner or similar municipal government capacity. AICP strongly preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. This position is covered under the auspices of the Services Employees International Union, Local 888. Salary DOQ.
