Boston Transportation Dept. seeks consultant to provide planning, engineering analysis, and concept design services for the JFK/UMass Station Area Action Plan. The Study will recommend specific, actionable improvements for the JFK/UMass MBTA station that will enhance pedestrian, bicycle, and transit access to the station and the public realm around the station site. North Attleboro is issuing Requests for Proposals for consultant(s) to develop a mixed-use overlay district & bylaw and to complete a land inventory for strategic planning services. These are separate projects although a consultant can submit a proposal for more than one. North Attleboro is looking for a consultant to work with the Town to create a mixed-use overlay district primarily for these areas and perhaps be a tiered approach. The project can possibly expand to further codification of the zoning bylaws.

The Town of Williamstown has issued an RFP for consultants for its first Master Plan in 20 years. Two phases for $180,000.

Issues: 

• Continued demand for housing and job creation in Williamstown,
• Sustainability should be woven throughout all elements of the Plan. Williamstown’s Town Meeting has recently adopted a net zero resolution;
• Diversity and inclusion also need to be grounding principles of this project.  A robust public process and creative community engagement strategy will be critical to ensuring the Master Plan fairly reflects the needs of the community.
