Tour East Boston's waterfront to witness the effects of the super high tide.
Consulting Planners of Massachusetts' annual tour is an opportunity to learn about plans and infrastructure in the works to respond to rising sea levels. This year we will meet in East Boston and hear from CPM members from Nitsch Engineering and Weston and Sampson discuss the projects implemented to deal with impacts of climate change.
The tour includes witnessing firsthand the power of the super high "King Tide" at Clippership Wharf as well as infrastructure improvements on the East Boston waterfront. The tour will conclude at Long Wharf and lunch at the Chart House (using MBTA Blue Line). Participants will get an understanding of resiliency issues and what developers and the City are doing to address them.
This event is open to all. The tour begins 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18 at LoPresti Park in East Boston. The group will walk a short distance to view projects and areas where resiliency projects are planned. The tour is free; to attend without joining for lunch, please use the "General registration" option. To eat lunch at Chart House, please select one of the paid registration options. Discount member pricing: if your firm is a corporate CPM member, you are a CPM member! Unsure whether your firm is a member? Check the Planning Consultant Directory. If you aren't a CPM member yet, we invite you to join CPM today.
Registration deadline: October 16, 2024. Contact CPM President Leonardi Aray at leonardi@larayarchitects.com with questions.
