    JM Goldson LLC, a small private planning firm based in Boston, is accepting applications for a full-time community planning analyst.

    The ideal candidate excels at leveraging data and spatial analysis to craft a compelling story detailing the trends and opportunities within a community. Superior interpersonal communication is a must. In particular, the candidate should be able to clearly communicate and justify quantitative and spatial information to non-planners. The community planning analyst should also be able to effectively and patiently manage multiple projects to keep them on track and work well in a collaborative team environment.

    Qualifications:

    • A Master’s Degree in community or urban planning or a related field is required
    • At least four year’s planning experience is preferred
    • Demonstrated experience and skills in data and spatial analysis
    • Strong knowledge of ArcGIS required
    • Strong skills in project management, research, and writing
    • Other important qualifications include the ability to think critically (not rotely accepting the status quo), be self-directed and resourceful, and have a demonstrated ability to work professionally
    • The ability to attend evening meetings is required and a valid driver’s license preferred

    The Merrimack Valley Planning Commission (MVPC) is seeking an experienced planning professional to provide supervisory, administrative, and technical leadership in developing and managing the agency’s Transportation Program.

    The Transportation Program Manager is responsible for the accomplishment of all highway and transit planning services for the agency and oversees the transportation planning contracts with local, state, and federal agencies and the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority. The Program Manager assists in the preparation and development of regional Transportation Planning studies, and transportation programs and assists in planning, organizing, and directing the transportation/transit planning activities and programs for the Merrimack Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (MVMPO).
